Hello, My name is Bruce L. Rife. I have been a science educator for both high school and college students during the past twenty eight years.

My family includes my wife, Jill, a nurse practitioner, my  daughter Sarah, and my  son, Joseph. Both are engineering students at Villanova University and UAF,

I have a background in natural resource management, having worked ten years seasonally for the United States Forest Service and performed field research for the Bureau of Land Management.

I enjoy hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and traveling.

I became interested in education after I volunteered for a year as a house father/counselor at Escuela Caribe, a private high school for “At Risk” students from the United States. The school, operated by New Horizons Youth Ministries, was located in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, West Indies. It was there I realized that by teaching, my talents could affect the most positive and lasting change in the lives of young people.
